Sell your course on Shopify. Skip the LMS bill.
Most creator courses are lessons, worksheets and questions — not quizzes, certificates and SCORM files. If that's yours, you don't need a second platform with per-student pricing bolted next to your store. You need your store to deliver the course.
Updated July 27, 2026The course, as buyers experience it
A student buys once in your normal Shopify checkout. Seconds later they're in a branded hub — your logo and colors — with the whole course laid out in your order:
- Lessons stream with resume. Each video plays in a real player and remembers where every student stopped — module three, minute twelve, still there tomorrow. No 1.2 GB downloads just to watch.
- Worksheets open inline. PDFs render in the hub; audio plays; everything stays downloadable on every plan.
- Notes as text cards. Syllabus, links, prerequisites — delivered as clean text deliverables, editable any time.
- No accounts required. The thank-you page, order status page, customer account and a tokenized email link all open the hub.
Launch with six lessons. Ship the seventh to everyone.
Courses grow after launch — that's the model. On AfterKit, adding lesson seven is editing the product: every past order updates automatically, and you decide whether students get a "your order was updated" email. Early-bird students get the finished course without re-purchasing, new links or a mail-merge afternoon. (Refunded students stay revoked.)
The classroom is built in
On Pro, your hub grows a Community tab that does what a course forum should:
- Updates every student sees — new lesson announcements (attach the trailer; video updates play inline), errata, live-session recaps.
- Q&A in threads with "needs reply" flags so no student question slips; answer once, publicly, and the next hundred students find it.
- Moderation you control — hold-for-approval mode, reports, bans. Email blasts go only to opted-in students.
And the Shop tab shows your other courses and packs with an automatic member discount — alumni are your best next cohort.
The economics, plainly
Course platforms typically charge monthly tiers plus, at the entry level, transaction fees — and the bill rises with your success. AfterKit charges a flat plan for delivery: $14/month covers streaming, branding and the hub shop with 25 GB of storage; $39/month adds the community and 250 GB. Unlimited orders and no revenue share on every plan, including Free. Your checkout, your customer data, your margins — it's your Shopify store all the way down.
Launch weekend, not launch quarter
- Create the course as a Shopify product (or one product per module — bundles work too).
- Upload lessons (up to 5 GB each), worksheets and notes; attach them in the order students should see, with the checkout widget promising instant access on the product page.
- Test-buy it yourself; watch the hub arrive in seconds, streaming and all. Refund the test; watch access revoke.
- On Pro, turn on Community, pin a welcome update, and open the doors.
Deliver your first module free. Then $14/month for streaming and branding — no per-student fees, ever.
Install AfterKitFrequently asked
Is AfterKit an LMS?
No — and that's the point. No quizzes, certificates or completion tracking; instead, streamed lessons with resume, files, notes and a community, delivered by your own store at a flat price.
Can I drip lessons on a schedule?
Not on a timer today. The working pattern is launching with what's ready and adding lessons as you finish them — every past student receives each addition automatically.
How large can lessons be?
Up to 5 GB per file. Storage is 1 GB on Free, 25 GB on Growth, 250 GB on Pro — with no bandwidth caps or per-play fees.
Can I protect my videos?
Streams and downloads run through signed, tokenized links tied to the order, and refunds revoke access automatically. Determined pirates exist on every platform; casual sharing is well contained.
