Repeat sales for digital products — turn one-time buyers into members
July 15, 2026 · AfterKit team
Acquiring a digital-product buyer costs real money; selling to them again costs almost nothing. Yet most stores treat delivery as a dead end — file sent, relationship over. Here's the loop that keeps it going.
1. Put the shelf where buyers already stand
Your past buyers return to their delivery hub — to re-download, to stream a lesson, to check an update. That visit is free attention. AfterKit adds a Shop tab right there: your catalog (all products or a hand-picked shelf), with products they already own marked "In your library."
2. Make the discount automatic
"Use code THANKS15 at checkout" loses half its audience at the typing step. In the hub shop, the member discount applies itself on the way to checkout — buyers click a product, the code rides along, and the checkout shows member pricing. The green "Members save 15%" chip does the persuading.
3. Announce inside, not just outside
Launching a new pack? Your community is the one channel the algorithm can't bury: pin an update, attach the preview video, and every buyer sees it in the hub. Buyers who ask "will it work with X?" get answers in public — which sells the product to everyone reading.
4. Let updates prove the relationship
Every time you push an update to past orders, buyers are reminded — in their inbox if you choose, in the hub always — that buying from you was a good decision. That trust is what converts the next "View product" click.
The loop, in one line
Deliver instantly → update generously → announce in community → sell from the member shelf → repeat. Each pass is cheaper than any ad, because the audience is already yours.
AfterKit does all of this out of the box. Digital downloads, keys, logins and a buyer community — free plan forever, no order limits.
Install AfterKitCommon questions
Does the member discount need coupon codes I manage?
You create one discount code in Shopify (say, MEMBERS15) and tell AfterKit about it once — the hub applies it automatically from then on.
Can I choose which products appear on the shelf?
Yes — all products, or hand-picked products and collections. Owned items automatically show "In your library" instead of a price.
Is buyer behavior tracked?
Only anonymous click counts on shelf products — enough to see what interests members, with no personal tracking.
